How we handle your data

Last updated 8 October 2026

Silicon Antiques is a small software-synth company in Wales, run by Andrew White. This page says what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It's short because we don't collect much.

What we collect, and why

  • Your email address, when you ask for the free synths. We need it to send you the confirmation link and your download links.
  • Which synths you asked for. So we send you the right ones, and so we know what people are interested in.
  • Whether you ticked "keep me posted". If you did, we'll email you about new instruments and releases. If you didn't, we won't, beyond the emails needed to deliver your downloads.
  • Whether you opened our emails or clicked the links in them. Our email service records this. We use it to count real downloads and to see what's useful.

We don't collect your name, your location, or anything else, and the website itself sets no tracking cookies.

The legal basis

Delivering the synths you asked for is a contract we're fulfilling. Sending you news is based on your consent, which is the separate, unticked box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.

Where it's kept

We use Kit (kit.com, formerly ConvertKit) to store the list and send email. Kit is a US company; it protects data transferred from the UK under standard contractual safeguards. Your address stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We don't sell, rent or share the list with anyone.

Your rights

  • Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email we send. It takes effect straight away.
  • See, correct or delete what we hold about you: email [email protected] and we'll do it within a month, usually the same day.
  • Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you think we've got something wrong. We'd rather you told us first.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll say so by email to people on the list.
